We’re petitioning Ad Standards Canada and the FTC to make AI model disclosure mandatory for every brand, because a model that has never existed should never be used to market to real women.
You deserve to know when an AI generated model is selling real products to real people. We’re calling on both the Canadian and US governments and Ad Standards Canada to require that any brand using AI-generated people in advertising must clearly disclose it on every piece of content.
The Why
We started Londre in 2017 with a vow: never photoshop our images.
We built this brand because the swimwear industry made women feel insecure. Airbrushing and photoshop continue to be damaging, with a direct and negative impact on body image.
Since then there has been progress. But we are on the precipice of taking 100 steps backwards.
AI generated models are now ubiquitous and indistinguishable from real ones. They aren’t just unrealistic, they are fictional. A body that has never existed, used to make you feel like yours isn’t enough. It’s misleading. And your self image pays the price.
We don’t want to build a world where being sold fiction becomes the norm.
We will never use AI generated people in our content. And we think every brand should have to say the same.
